A road is partially blocked this morning after a crash.

Police are currently at the scene on Stapleton Avenue following a smash which has left a car badly damaged.

It is not clear how the crash happened and how many vehicles were involved.

But one motorist said the car was blocking the lane going down to Victoria Road so cars have to pass on the opposite side.

It is understood  a recovery vehicle is on site now.

The crash happened at around just before 5am, according to residents, heading down from the junction of Old Kiln Lane to Victoria Road.

Police have been contacted for more information.
