Road blocked after skip lorry dramatically overturns spilling its load outside tip
Emergency crews descended on a recycling centre on Thursday after a skip lorry overturned, spilling its load onto the road.
The dramatic incident saw the lorry tip over onto its side with rubbish spilled out into the carriageway outside a recycling centre on Teesside on Thursday (March 23) morning.
Police, fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene on Haverton Hill Road in Billingham just after 10am after reports of the vehicle having overturned.

Paramedics took the lorry driver to hospital for treatment after the incident.
Fire crews assisted with clean-up efforts after waste was strewn across the road near the Scott Bros Ltd building.
Recovery work to remove the lorry, which partially blocked the roundabout outside the recycling centre, carried on into the afternoon with a police cordon in place.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of an overturned small artic lorry on Haverton Hill Road, Billingham, around 10am this morning.

“Ambulance service colleagues have attended to assess the driver for any injuries and the vehicle will be recovered as soon as possible.”
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service added: “We received a call at 10.01am this morning (Thursday 23 March) to reports of a road traffic incident on Haverton Hill Road in Billingham.
“We dispatched one ambulance crew and a rapid response paramedic to the scene. One patient was transported to the University Hospital of North Tees for further treatment.”
