Rob McElhenney sends message to Tom Brady as Wrexham set up Birmingham City blockbuster
Wrexham co-owner and Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney is already looking forward to a top-of-the-table clash against Birmingham City.
International football has seen the Premier League and the Championship take a break for the games going on. While some matches in League One were also played, international call-ups means that Blues’ scheduled clash against Exeter City was postponed.
While Blues players not on international duty have had extra time without a game, the side's promotion rivals were in action. One of those clubs is Wrexham.
The Welsh club owned by Hollywood actors McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds came out as 3-0 winners over Shrewsbury on Saturday afternoon. Those three points moved them to the top of the League One table, three points above Blues, who have a game in hand.

They could eliminate that points difference in just over a week. Blues return to action next Monday, as they host Wrexham at St Andrew’s in what could be a blockbuster clash.
The game will see McElhenney and Reynolds come up against Tom Brady, who owns a stake in Blues. Following Wrexham’s win, McElhenney has taken to social media to send a message to Brady ahead of next week’s match.
“See you next Monday @TomBrady ;) Should be an absolute banger @BCFC @Wrexham_AFC,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
This weekend’s results mean that Blues end the weekend in fourth position in the table, having picked up 10 points from their opening four games. A win over Wrexham would move them level on points with their rivals at the top of the table.
