Robber On The Run After Fleeing From Prison

A man convicted of robbery is on the run after absconding from Sudbury Prison in Derbyshire.

Adam Tyrone Murray, who is from the West Midlands, fled the Category D open jail on Saturday.

In May 2012, he was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court to 66 months for robbery.

Murray is the latest inmate to flee from an open jail after a series of embarrassing incidents in recent months for the Ministry of Justice.

He is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, with blue eyes and short brown shaven hair.

Murray, aged 27, has a Birmingham accent and connections to the city.
