Robbie Williams hires healer to deal with Michael Winner’s ghost

The late, great director and food critic Michael Winner left us back in 2013 – but it seems his spirit lives on - and takes an active interest in soft furnishings, too.

So much so, in fact, that the new residents of his former west London home – Robbie Williams and Ayda Field – have called in a Native American healer to expunge the £17.5million pad of “dark energies.”

As the great man might say, calm down, dear.

Anyway, Robbie’s wife Ayda Field is apparently convinced that she has to appease Winner’s spirit whenever she makes interior design choices – new curtains and rugs, things like that – and is convinced he’s “watching over her.”

Ayda told ITV’s Loose Women that the hired healer with burn herbs in a process known as ‘smudging’ in order to rid the house of Winner’s stubborn spirit.

“I am kind of concerned because I’m like, ‘Michael, do you like this? Is this OK with you? He was such a larger-than-life character.

“"I am going to have it blessed, saged, the whole LA thing,“ she said.

Since the ex-Winner abode boasts an incredible 46 rooms, let’s hope Robbie and Ayda’s smudging chum manages to find enough sage.

The couple, along with kids Theodora, four, and Charlton, two, won’t be moving in until the ghost of Winner has been chased away - but they will be keeping a few items of his around the house in tribute. Asking for trouble, that.

An old chum of the Death Wish director was less than impressed at the new occupants’ hippy-dippy plans. "Isn’t that all a bit New Age faddish?” said Barry McKay. "Michael would consider this all bonkers, especially having his spirit expunged.”

We’re inclined to agree.
