Robbie Williams' fans have expressed their worry after his wife, Ayda Field, shared a snapshot of the singer on Instagram that sparked weight loss speculation.

The 50 year old pop icon and ex-Take That member, who has been open about his battles with weight and body dysmorphia, became the subject of fan concern following the post. Robbie appears in the photo reclining, clad in a shirt featuring the notorious pop pair Milli Vanilli and tiger-patterned briefs, reports the Mirror.

The perspective of the image may give the impression that Robbie has slimmed down, although this could be an optical illusion due to his posture. Ayda's caption read: "Welcome Home, Baby #guesswho #homesweethome #eyeofthetiger @robbiewilliams AWx".

With Robbie set to take the stage at BST Hyde Park come July, followers were quick to voice their thoughts on Ayda's post. One fan commented: "Robbie's lost so much weight [shock face emoji]", while another posted: "Omg why is he so skinny."

A third shared similar concerns: "OMG! ! Why he is so skinny? His legs looks like arms."

However, some of Robbie's supporters defended him against the comments, with one saying: "People need to stop going on about Robbie's weight, nothing to do with you, not your body so keep your nose out. Anyway, I think he looks fantastic."

Another supporter hit back at the critics: "looking gooood @robbiewilliams And to the people on here that just criticise, does it make you feel better about yourselves to criticise how he looks? ".

Robbie has candidly spoken about his struggles with body image, previously sharing a drawing on social media that depicted two figures alongside the phrase "my ideal goal weight is people being worried about me," He elaborated in the caption: "So, If a genie appeared and said you can either have your superpower be the ability to fly or eat what you want and remain at your goal weight? I would go for goal weight eating every day. What about you?".

He went on to reveal his deep-seated issues with self-perception: "I could write a book about self-loathing where my body image is concerned. Like pure self-hatred, The ugliness of feeling ugly. I'm body dysmorphic and on top of being dysmorphic at times, I can be 40+ pounds overweight. So you can imagine what my mind sees. Or maybe you can't either way it's a f*****g disaster."

Currently slim, Robbie expressed his ongoing internal battle: "At the moment I'm skinny... But me being me, my mind is going, 'F*****g great Rob, you managed to get skinny and now your old, congrats, golf clap. The struggle is real, the sadness shocking. I've had it all my life. And it won't abate."(sic).

The star has also been open about his experiences with cosmetic surgery, revealing on Instagram a past incident where treatments left him resembling the comic strip character Desperate Dan: "One time I had a few things done, botox, fillers and something done to my chin that made me look like desperate Dan. Perhaps [about] 5 years ago."

Representatives for Robbie have been contacted for further comments.
