Robbie Williams has said that he wants to play Glastonbury's legends slot next year.

The former Take That singer previously played the main stage at the Worthy Farm festival in 1998 after he left Take That, but has not been back since.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, admitted it would be "cool" to return and perform at Britain's biggest music festival.

He added: "Actually, I’d like to do that. I’d like another go round on that stage and feel that audience and get the chance to do it.”

Williams also said: “[Glastonbury has] never really been on my radar, and obviously [I’ve] not been on their radar, either. But now I’m like, ‘Yeah, I wanna do that’.”

Despite Williams putting himself forward for the coveted legends slot which this year saw Diana Ross appear at the festival, a number of other names have already been mooted.

Melanie C has hinted that the Spice Girls would be interested in performing at the festival while Roxy Music have also been rumoured for the slot after reuniting earlier this year.

In recent years, the likes of Kylie Minogue, Barry Gibb, Lionel Richie and Dolly Parton have all played the legends slot which occurs on the Sunday afternoon.

Glastonbury 2023 is set to take place on 21-25 June. No acts have been confirmed as yet but those rumoured to be headlining include Harry Styles, Arctic Monkeys, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John.

This year's headliners were Paul McCartney as well as first-timers Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar.
