Robbie Williams has revealed his ambitions to return to Glastonbury - but he doesn’t want to perform in the legends slot.

The former Take That star, 45, previously performed at Worthy Farm in 1998.

Speaking to the Sun, Williams said that he didn’t feel entirely welcome by “the rest of the festival” at the time, but claimed that he had been inspired by Adele’s 2016 set.

“When I was at Glastonbury it felt as though the rest of the festival was like, ‘What the f*** are you doing here, you c***?” he explained.

“I’d like to headline and that’s what I’d like to do, if I did anything. As far as I know, nothing is in the air for that. But they know where I am if they need me.

“I don’t want to do the legends slot, though.”

The legends slot is on the on Sunday afternoon of the festival, and Diana Ross is already on board for next year’s event.

The Supremes icon is the only act confirmed so far for the special 50th anniversary event, which will take place from June 24 to June 28, 2020.

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis recently shut down speculation that Fleetwood Mac and Led Zeppelin could perform next year.

Fleetwood Mac’s Mick Fleetwood hinted earlier this year that the band could appear on the Pyramid Stage in 2020, but Eavis confirmed this would not be the case - despite being “hopeful” that the group would be on the line-up “one day.”

“They are a band I’d love to have at Glastonbury,” she told the audience at the Cheltenham Literary Festival.

“I’ve always been quite open about the fact that we would really love to have them. I’m so hopeful that one day they will do it.

“But it’s not going to happen for 2020, forget it. I’m sorry. The other one is Led Zeppelin.”

She added: “Let’s clear that up now. I do not think that is going to happen.”

Eavis went on to reveal that the 2020 event has “got a really good line-up coming together,” with “two out of three headliners” already confirmed.

She said she is “still negotiating” the final act.
