Robert Pattinson says he slept on an inflatable boat for 6 months due to lack of furniture

It probably wasn't orthopedic.

Hollywood's most eccentric vampire is back with more Pattinsonisms.

Robert Pattinson revealed that there was a period in his life when he slept on an inflatable boat. "There was a time when the only piece of furniture I had for about six months was an inflatable boat that would double as my couch, bed, and dining table," the actor told Architectural Digest. "I loved it very much, but it caused a lot of back problems."

The actor can now add furniture designer to his expansive resume, as he recently designed his first sofa — nine-foot long and ear-shaped in lush white linen velvet — alongside designer Nicole Gordon, who decorated two of his homes. It was after Pattinson wrapped on 2022's The Batman that he found himself doodling some designs.

“I started sketching pieces of furniture I thought would make people interact in a playful and informal way,” Pattinson said. “They all had disproportionate, oversized elements that were quite fun. And in the process of making some models out of clay, I found that organic overlapping curves had a similar effect.”

“Rob wanted a piece where you could nestle in to read, but was also sturdy and stable enough for a number of people to sit on at a party," Gordon added.

Pattinson's sofa is on display at antique furniture store JF Chen in Los Angeles, which is selling a limited edition of made-to-order pieces.

The sofa is almost as impressive as the Twilight star's other lifestyle creation, his viral quarantine pasta he named "little pillow," made in the microwave. Pattinson shared the headline-making recipe with GQ in 2020, which involved Corn Flakes, nine packs of pre-sliced cheese, sauce, lots of sugar, and a lighter. He famously blew up his microwave in the process.
