It's been a rocky week at Strictly Come Dancing - no sooner had we welcomed back Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden, we lost two couples for week four.

One of them has quit permanently while the other will hopefully be back and injury-free in a week, and of course another couple were voted out in movie week.

Meanwhile, there were some stunning performances and exciting results in the week three show as we saw the first 10s of the series.

Here's all the latest Strictly news from 9 - 15 October.

Robert Webb quits due to illness

Sad news from the ballroom this week as Robert Webb shared that he had to drop out of the series on doctor's orders.

The Peep Show star had open heart surgery two years ago and although he has made a good recovery, the intense training proved too much for him.

He announced: “I’m extremely sorry to have to announce that I’m withdrawing from Strictly Come Dancing due to ill health. Two years ago I had open heart surgery and although I believed I was fit enough to take on Strictly and its demanding schedule, it became clear that I had bitten off way more than I could chew for this stage in my recovery.

"I had begun to feel symptoms that led me to seek an urgent consultation with my heart specialist, and it was her view that it would be better for the sake of my health to step back from the show."

He added: "I’ve been especially touched by the support from fellow heart patients. I think perhaps I was too eager to impress them. They will know that recovery doesn’t always go in a straight line, and I hope they’re not too disappointed that I ran into the limits of my resilience much sooner than I’d hoped."

Webb and his partner Dianne Buswell will be cheering on the other contestants as the comedian takes a well-earned rest.

Ugo Monye is out of week four with injury

Just as we came to terms with the fact that Robert Webb wouldn't be returning to the dancefloor, we were hit by the news that Ugo Monye and his partner Oti Mabuse will have to miss week four.

Hopefully, theirs will be a temporary absence as ex-rugby player Monye recovers from an ongoing back injury.

Explaining what had happened, he tweeted: “Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to dance this weekend on the show. I have a history of back problems which has always been managed under the guidance of medical professionals. Unfortunately this has been causing me some unwanted problems this week!

"I have been advised by medical professionals and with huge support from Strictly to get some treatment & rest to ensure that I can get myself back to full capacity & fighting fit for next week.

"Gutted Oti & I won’t be dancing this weekend but wishing all the other contestants the best of luck & will be cheering them on from home!"

Of course, illness and injury aren't the only things ruling couples out of the competition - on Sunday evening, we said farewell to Katie McGlynn and Gorka Marquez who were voted out second.

McGlynn found herself back in the dance off for a second week in a row, but lost out to Judi Love and Graziano Di Prima, who the judges chose to save.

Hollyoaks actor McGlynn, who got to dance as Cruella De Vil for her final routine, said to Marquez: “Thank you for being an amazing partner, we have laughed so much, and I get to walk away with an amazing friend.

"Thanks so much for teaching me in your funny ways, we have had so much fun.”

It's never too early for a 10 from Shirley (and Motsi...and Anton...)

This is possibly the most talented Strictly cast we've ever seen, as shown by some very high scores in just week three.

Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu's couple's choice Spider-Man routine impressed the judges so much that Motsi Mabuse gave it the first 10 of the series, bringing their score to a total of 37.

But John Whaite and Johannes Radebe's Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Paso Doble followed it and scored even bigger, with every judge other than Craig Revel Horwood giving them 10 points.

Talking about the dance, which scored a near-perfect 39, Anton Du Beke said: "I'm a little overwhelmed, I thought it might be a bit camp but it's the best thing I've seen all night."

Emma Thompson is Strictly's biggest fan

Greg Wise's superstar wife Emma Thompson has been one of the most exciting parts of this series of Strictly as she pops up in the studio audience each week cheering him on.

Last week, there were even scenes of her visiting the rehearsal room to dance with a starstruck Karen Hauer, and Wise has confirmed his wife will never miss a live show.

Talking to Lorraine, Wise said: “Em’s become so anxious that she feels she has to be there every Saturday in the studio. So she is going to camouflage herself and pretend to be someone on the sound department I think.”

Let's hope his Samba to the Macarena this week doesn't disappoint.
