Robot Wars is coming back with bigger and better house robots!

Whilst many things from my youth are slowly being brought back these days it is the news that Robot Wars will seen be gracing our screens again that has me eager to remind my dad that we were going to build a robot together and cause some metal-based mayhem. Suffice to say I’m excited.

But imagine my excitement when the show, trading Craig Charles and Phillipa Forrester for Dara O’Briain and Angela Scanlon, announced that not only would it be coming back with its iconic house robots, but also that they would be receiving an upgrade.

Favourites like Matilda, Shunt, Dead Meal and Sir Killalot will be returning bigger and better than ever before as revealed by James Cooper of RoboChallenge (the company making the house robots) talking to DigitalTrends.com

“When we were first commissioned to design and produce the new House Robots we really wanted to take them to the next level. "To ensure each House Robot was as menacing, powerful, and a leap ahead of the originals as possible we created a bit of competition. By splitting our team of engineers into three to work on Matilda, Shunt and Dead Metal, each team worked to make their robot as mean as possible! We all joined back together to create Sir Killalot.”

Whilst it’s a shame that original house-bot Sergeant Bash isn’t making a return it’s certainly good news to hear that the CPZ will be guarded by some truly ferocious robots for the new season.

So, perhaps me and my dad won’t be makng a robot after all
