Seriously, is there anything Dwayne can't do?

Well, actually there is – and that's appear in the upcoming Shazam movie from the DCEU. Sad stuff, we know.

After the news that Warner Bros was fast-tracking Shazam as its next movie to kick off filming, the studio has now confirmed that Dwayne will no longer appear as Black Adam in the film.

"We haven't announced any casting yet [for Shazam]," DC creative chief Geoff Johns told Yahoo Movies at Comic-Con.

"But Dwayne isn't going to be in this movie. He's still doing Black Adam, but he won't be in Shazam!"

Alongside the much-anticipated Fast & Furious spin-off featuring Hobbs and Shaw, The Rock has also been quietly cooking up a solo Black Adam movie to introduce the fallen god to fans.

Chatting to Digital Spy about why he wanted to play Black Adam, he admitted that he thought the anti-hero was 'inherently more interesting'.

"I felt like there were more layers to Black Adam starting out as a slave and then ultimately becoming the anti-hero who we enjoy today," he explained.
