The Rock wants Wonder Woman director for Jungle Cruise
Earlier this month, we learned that Dwayne Johnson was planning to turn Disneyland ride Jungle Cruise into a movie.
It now looks like he has a director in mind, and it seems he's turning to the DC universe for inspiration.
The star revealed that he is a big fan of Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, and that she's definitely on his shortlist.
"Patty has that really cool edge ... I felt like she could be a really cool choice for a movie like Jungle Cruise," Johnson told The AP.
"Plus, you know what? I'm just a big fan."
However, the AP profile of the director suggested that Jenkins was not aware of this yet, so it's all up in the air for now.
Jungle Cruise has been in pre-production since 2015, and Johnson is producing and starring in the live-action feature.
Star Trek Beyond's JD Payne and Patrick McKay have apparently drafted the latest script, which is based on the jungle boat ride. Production is set for next spring.
Meanwhile, on the Wonder Woman front, star Gal Gadot recently posted an awesome new trailer for the upcoming DC movie, explaining more about the secret identity of Diana Prince.
Wonder Woman lands in UK cinemas on June 1 and US cinemas on June 2.
