Rockfall closes road at North Wales beauty spot
A rockfall closed a road at a North Wales beauty spot. Boulders are believed to have tumbled down Llandudno's Great Orme over the weekend.
Conwy County Borough Council said it is dealing with the incident on Marine Drive. A spokesman said: "There has been a rock fall between the toll house and St Tudno’s Road (the zig-zags).
"Marine Drive is currently closed to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians from the toll house to the St Tudno’s Road junction (there is access via St Tudno’s Road). Rock engineers are due to inspect tomorrow morning."

Llandudno Land Train said: "Unfortunately there was a large rock slide on the Orme last night and Marine Drive is closed while they remove the debris. Therefore we will be running a short shuttle service from the Pier to West Shore and back until further notice."
People commented in the rockfall on social media. One man posted about the loose rocks on the Facebook page "You know you are from Llandudno if you..."
He wrote: "Dry weather then heavy rainfall makes them unstable and goats roaming etc dislodge them often." Another typed: "Just as well this didn't happen during the mini rally!" referring to a recent event.
Another man suggested one rockfall over 30 years ago was even worse that the one over the weekend. He wrote: "If anyone remembers the deluge of 91 (sic) when hundreds of tons of rocks with some the size of standing stones were washed down onto marine drive you'll realise these are only pebbles compared to then."
