Roman Kemp cuts short Camila Cabello One Show interview after making star 'nervous'

An interview with pop star Camila Cabello was cut short on tonight's episode of The One Show (September 30) after an unusual line of questioning made the songstress 'nervous'.

Appearing on the sofa alongside comedian Al Murray, Cabello was appearing to promote her new album C, XOXO.

However, in the opening moments of her interview, the American artist was quizzed about her love of an English pub.

"Do you like a pub, this is what we hear?" co-host Alex Jones began. "I do, I love an English roast. I love a pub," Cabello replied, fielding further questioning over whether she preferred beef or chicken.

"I've gone chicken," she answered, prompting fellow The One Show co-host, Roman Kemp, to share how he enjoyed "lots of stuffing" on a chicken dish.

The conversation continued to go off course, with Kemp forced to cut short the interview and start again in order to get back to the intended topic of conversation: Cabello's music.

"You're looking nervous," he said. "Well look... let's get back to the brand new music." His efforts to get the interview back on track were once again foiled as comedian Al Murray started up a conversation with the musician about wine.

Finally, Kemp got the interview under control after announcing: "Ok, let's try and do this again. Back to the music," as the studio erupted into laughter.

Despite the interview going off course, it was still a marked improvement on her last One Show appearance. Back in March 2022, the singer suffered a wardrobe malfunction live on air, accidentally exposing her bare chest to viewers as she prepared to dance via video link, all before the watershed.

The unfortunate moment prompted fellow guest, comedian Alan Carr, to cover his mouth in shock while Alex Jones issued an apology to viewers at the end of the show. "Sorry again for Camilla's wardrobe malfunction, bless her it happens to the best of us," she said.
