TV presenter Roman Kemp has opened up about his struggles when returning home to visit his family. The 31-year-old is the son of Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp but he did not inherit a skill for music, he said.

He described how his father and sister often engaged in musical activities together, but confessed it was not something he felt part of. Speaking to the Guardian, he said: "I really upset my mum recently, because I said sometimes I feel like I don't fit in with our family.

"I go back home and my dad will be on the piano, my sister will be singing, my mum's taking videos and pictures. And I just want to be on my own. I'm not... embarrassed by it, but that form of extroversion is not really me."

Roman, who has been vocal about his mental health journey, previously told his social media followers he had stopped using antidepressants after he began taking them at the age of 15, LancsLive reports.

The ex-Capital Breakfast radio host said on Instagram: "I'm neither for or against taking anti-depressants, I'm about what is right for YOU and if it helps you then go for it."

Recent reports suggested he would not be back to host the 2025 BRIT Awards, despite calling his previous involvement a "dream come true". A source disclosed to the Daily Mail he "accepts that these things change" and the presenter was "flattered" to have been chosen last year, but understood the nature of the industry as a "pro and gets it".

Besides his work on BBC's The One Show and his past role at Capital, Roman has appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with his father since 2019.
