It has been a busy window for the Italian club with nine new players arriving, including Justin Kluivert from Ajax and Javier Pastore from PSG. However, it is the player they missed out on which Roma still have on their mind.

Brazilian star Malcom also looked certain to join Roma at the end of last month from Bordeaux but the forward performed a dramatic U-turn after the club announced that they had agreed terms for his signature.

After that debacle, Roma’s social media team posted a video suggesting they’d learned their lesson.

“We weren’t taking any chances with this one,” read the caption, which accompanied a video that conveyed the message nobody was about to swoop in to scupper this deal.
