Romesh Ranganathan is nursing a fractured wrist after hurting himself while filming Sky One show A League Of Their Own.

The comedian, 42, was taking part in a BMX challenge when he flew over the handlebars of his bike and injured himself.

As well as hurting his wrist, Ranganathan dislocated his thumb.

The Sun quoted the star as saying: “The track where it happened doesn’t have many injuries.

“Unluckily for me, the health and safety guys hadn’t dreamed up the uniquely stupid way I’d do the challenge.”

However, luckily it seems there was no major harm done.

A Sky spokesperson said: “Romesh Ranganathan suffered a dislocated thumb and fractured wrist while filming a VT for a brand new series of A League Of Their Own.

“After going over the handlebars during a BMX challenge, Romesh was assessed at the scene of the accident and driven to a hospital to be looked over by a doctor.

“Romesh is in good spirits and will continue filming for the 15th series of A League Of Their Own due to air later this year.”

It isn’t the first time Ranganathan has come a cropper doing something for the sports-based panel programme.

Last year it was reported that the star had to have stitches above his eye after footballer Jamie Redknapp accidentally elbowed him in the face.

Stand-up comic Ranganathan has appeared on several TV shows, such as Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You, Play To The Whistle and The Museum Of Curiosity.

The father-of-three joined A League Of Their Own as a regular panellist in 2018.
