Ron Howard shares picture of ‘terrific’ Emilia Clarke as she wraps up Han Solo spin-off: ‘We miss her already!’

Star Wars fans have been treated to a picture of Emilia Clarke on the set of the new Han Solo spin-off film.

Director Ron Howard shared the image of himself and Clarke after she wrapped up her “terrific performance” before heading off for her “next adventure”.

He captioned the shot: “#emiliaclarke gave us a terrific performance & left! She completed principal photography and is off on her next adventure.

“Busy girl. We miss her already! Talented & great to work with #UntitledHanSoloMovie.”

Clarke also shared the image on Instagram where she described Howard as “perfection”.

She wrote: “Well, now that really was an adventure. The perfection that is @realronhoward posted this little nugget and I had to share again.

Clarke is playing new character Kira in the upcoming sci-fi film, with rumours circulating that she could be a love interest for Han who will be played by Alden Ehrenreich.

“#untitledhansolomovie was a trip and a half but this genius here made it one I'll never forget.”

Other cast members include Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Woody Harrelson.

Howard took over the production after original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller stepped down in June over “creative differences” arose between themselves and executive producer Kathleen Kennedy.

The Apollo 13 director has been keeping fans up-to-date with filming, and recently shared pictures from a scene about “desperate and dangerous times”.

The film is slated for UK cinema release on May 25, 2018.
