Scott Z. Burns (The Informant!, Apple TV+’s Extrapolations) created the series and will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Pike, Scott Galloway, Greg Jacobs, Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer will also executive-producer.
Pike of course stars as Moiraine in Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time adaptation, which wrapped filming on Season 3 last fall and is due for a 2025 return.
Showrunner Rafe Judkins shared at New York Comic Con last October that Wheel of Time Season 3 will focus primarily on the storylines from Book Four (The Shadow Rising) of Robert Jordan’s series of novels, with a sprinkling of elements from Book Five (The Fires of Heaven). He also teased that viewers will get to meet additional members of the Forsaken, and that the third season will explore Dreamwalking, the ability to enter the dreams of others.
In addition to taking viewers back to the Two Rivers, the upcoming season will bring to life fan-favorite cities, never before seen on-screen, including Tanchico and Rhuidean. Season 3, Judkins added, will also visit the Aiel Waste, dive into the Aiel culture, and dig deeper into Aes Sedai politics at the White Tower.
Lastly, Judkins said that Season 3 will explore new versions of channeling in other cultures, and will introduce the famous Sea Folk, a seafaring people known for trading.
