Rowan Atkinson fans can't wait for 'Man Vs Bee' after 'hilarious' trailer drops

Rowan Atkinson fans have said they are counting the minutes to see his new series Man Vs Bee after the “hilarious” trailer dropped.

The Netflix series sees the comic actor playing a bumbling house-sitter doing battle with a bee.

The teaser shows Atkinson as Trevor, who looks rather pleased with himself as he lands a job looking after a plush house.

Things start to go wrong when he swats at a bee, and ends up breaking one of the owner’s pieces of art.

Mayhem ensues, with Trevor whacking himself, falling over and starting a fire in the kitchen in pursuit of the bee – which gets away every time.

Fans could not get enough of the trailer and posted messages on Twitter saying they couldn’t wait to tune in to the series.

“The legend is back,” one posted.

“Rowan Atkinson being troubled by a bee is just GOLD!” said another.

One person said they had “high expectations” for the series.

“This is utterly HILARIOUS,” tweeted another, while one fan predicted it was going to “really be funny”.

Someone else tweeted: “Rowan Atkinson is a theatrical genius and everything he does is absolutely hilarious!

"I cannot wait to watch.”

“I wish I produced reaction videos,” wrote another fan.

“I could not contain myself laughing aloud on the bus. #RowanAtkinson truly is a treasure & this trailer for his new #Netflix show #ManVsBee demonstrates why so many people love & adore this physical comedy icon.”

Someone else posted: “Mr Bean comes with another new masterpiece."

The series – which also stars Jing Lusi, Claudie Blakley and Julian Rhind-Tutt – is the 67-year-old’s first since Handy Bean, which aired from 2018 to 2020.

Man Vs Bee is due to premiere on the streaming service in June.
