  • Warning: Spoilers ahead for "The Ultimatum" season two.

  • Antonio Mattei and Roxanne Kaiser had one of the more dramatic arcs this season.

  • The couple gave fans an update during the reunion episode, and have clapped back at critics on social media.

From the start of season two of Netflix's dating series "The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On," 30-year-old Antonio Mattei and his girlfriend, 31-year-old Roxanne Kaiser, make a big impression.

In the dating series, a group of couples is brought together to decide whether they are ready to get engaged. They do this by participating in trial marriages with both their original partner and another contestant on the show. Antonio, who issues the titular ultimatum to Roxanne, is portrayed as a soft-spoken yet earnest romantic, while Roxanne is shown to be an ambitious businesswoman who doesn't suffer fools.

Predictably, the two have a dramatic arc on the show. Antonio seems committed to Roxanne, but she quickly gets candid with her trial marriage partner, Alex Chapman, about what she perceives as Antonio's many shortcomings. However, despite Alex telling Antonio at one point that Roxanne doesn't respect Antonio and considers him her "whipping boy," Antonio and Roxanne end the series engaged, as shown in Wednesday's finale episode.

Are Antonio and Roxanne still together now?

The couple confirmed during the reunion episode, which was also released Wednesday, that they're still together and still engaged, although Roxanne said during the episode that she feels uncomfortable wearing her engagement ring.

Antonio, for his part, seemed hurt by Roxanne's refusal to wear her engagement ring and the several other diamond rings he purchased to complement the original ring.

Roxanne also shared that while her and Antonio's time on "The Ultimatum" helped her warm to the idea of marriage, it's still not top of mind for her right now.

However, on social media, the two had nothing but praise for one another, and urged critics of their relationship to consider that only certain portions of their journey were shown in the final edit of the season.

"The truth is Roxanne is the MOST considerate, loving, caring, and thoughtful person I have EVER met... She is constantly looking for the smallest reason to celebrate the people in her life, including me. Anything she has asked for in a partner, she does herself," Antonio wrote in a recent Instagram story Q&A.

"To call her anything but fair is flat out incorrect. She's made such a positive impact in my life and calling her 'abusive' is so ignorant," he added.

Roxanne, in a separate Instagram Q&A, said she didn't consider herself toxic, and also called Antonio "the most compassionate person I know on this planet earth."

"He is understanding, a kind soul, gentle... and most of all, he brings out the best in me and I him (which is something nobody was able to see)," she wrote.

All 10 episodes of "The Ultimatum" season two are currently streaming on Netflix.
