Controversial Celebrity Big Brother housemate Roxanne Pallett has left the show, Channel 5 have confirmed.

The official statement said: “Roxanne has decided to leave the BB House. The remaining housemates have been informed.”

The 35-year-old former Emmerdale actress came under fire after accusing former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas of ‘repeatedly punching’ her. Footage of the alleged attack showed Ryan jabbing her, for which Pallett initially laughed off.

The allegations have sparked over 11,000 Ofcom complaints and thousands taking to Twitter to claim Pallett invented the allegation in an attempt to get Thomas evicted – who is currently the bookies favourite to win the series.

Friday night’s eviction saw Married at First Sight star Ben Jardine evicted, who was met with ‘Get Roxy Out’ chants and boos as he exited the house.

After being played the alleged attack scene by CBB host Emma Willis, Jardine confessed to feeling ‘mugged off’ by Pallett – who had previously convinced him that Thomas had seriously hurt her.

Since leaving the house Pallett has deleted her Twitter account. Her Wikipedia page has also been vandalised.

A spokeswoman for Pallett told the Press Association: “Roxanne decided to leave the CBB house late last night after deliberating for two days with some sensitive issues she felt strongly about.

“She has now been reunited with her fiance and family and thanks everyone for their support during her time in the show.”
