This week Royal Ascot 2018 will open the doors to its iconic racetrack and the summer season will be well and truly under way. But what to expect from this highlight of the British sporting calendar? Here's Royal Ascot in numbers:
3 miles of bunting are to be erected
56,000 bottles of champagne will be chilled
3,500 lobsters are on order
330 chefs will work across 12 restaurants and 225 private boxes
3,000 kilos of sirloin beef and 7,000 rumps of lamb will be served to guests
21,000 jugs of Pimm's will be drunk
240,000 hand-crafted afternoon tea cakes will be eaten, including 1,200 kilos of clotted cream.
400 helicopters and 1000 limousines will descend on Ascot over the five day event
£7.3million in prize money will be won across the five days
300,000 guests are expected to attend the Royal Meeting this year
