Royal fans spot Prince William's subtle supportive gesture to 'shaking' Kate Middleton
Royal fans are only just noticing a subtle moment Prince William supported a 'shaking' Kate Middleton during their historic engagement.
The pair announced the news on November 16, 2010, the month after William proposed. They tied the knot on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey as millions watched the ceremony from home.
Now, in a video taken on the day the pair announced it, fans have noticed how Kate seemed nervous to face the press – and the sweet gesture William did to comfort her. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), people said they noticed the now-Princess of Wales' hand quivering in the clip.

"Does anyone have a longer version of this video? i believe william had to help catherine bc her hand was shaking," they wrote.
Another responded with the "back story," before sharing a thread of posts. "Catherine was shaking so bad they could not get a good photo of the ring so William held her hand," one of them read, to which someone else responded: "The poor girl (she was so young back then)."
In an interview with ITV in the wake of the couple's engagement, the Prince of Wales revealed he proposed to his now-wife while they were on holiday in Kenya. "We had a little private time away together with some friends and I just decided that it was the right time really," he said.
"We'd been talking about marriage for a while, so it wasn't a massively big surprise, but I took her up somewhere nice in Kenya and proposed."
"It was very romantic," Kate chimed in. "And you said yes, obviously?" responded the interviewer, to which Kate said: "Of course, yes." She added she hadn't seen the proposal coming while the pair were on holiday. "We were out there with friends and things, so I really didn't expect it at all," she said, adding it was a "total shock."
In a heart-warming nod to the future king's late mother, Kate was given Princess Diana's engagement ring, which boasts a large sapphire and diamonds. Speaking about the ring, William said: "I thought it was quite nice, because obviously she's not going to be around to share any of the fun excitement of it all, that this is my way of keeping her sort of close to it all."
He also admitted he'd had to carry the ring in his rucksack for about three weeks before popping the question. "I literally would not let it go. Everywhere I went, I was keeping hold of it, because I knew this thing, if it disappeared, I'd be in a lot of trouble."
The couple were given the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge the same day they exchanged vows. Upon becoming husband and wife, the pair were gifted Anmer Hall, a stunning Georgian country house built in 1802 boasting 10 bedrooms, a swimming pool, and a tennis court.
