Royal Stoke probe into death of one-day-old baby

An investigation is continuing into the death of a baby at Stoke-on-Trent's main hospital. Fatima Khan was just one day old when she died at the Royal Stoke University Hospital on June 5, 2023.

A pre-inquest review was at held at Stoke Civic Centre yesterday ahead of an inquest into Fatima's death. Her dad - Mohammed Khan, of Friars Avenue, Stone - attended the hearing.

Coroner Emma Serrano asked the Royal Stoke's legal team to present all evidence and reports by October 21. The Khan family’s legal team - including barrister Dominic Ruck-Keane and solicitors Nicola Wainwright and Georgina Wright - also attended the hearing via video link.
