Royal Television Society Awards 2019: Killing Eve star Jodie Comer leads stars at glitzy London ceremony

Jodie Comer looked stylish in ruffles as she walked the carpet at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards in London.

The Killing Eve star wore a black dress with ruffled sleeves and a ruffled hem for the glitzy bash at Grosvenor House on Tuesday.

Comer, who plays serial assassin Villanelle in the hit drama, is nominated alongside co-star Sandra Oh – who plays Eve Polastri – and Black Earth Rising star Michaela Coel for Best Female Actor.

The BBC America drama, created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is also nominated in its own right, battling Peaky Blinders and Save Me for the coveted Best Drama Series gong.

Coel wore a short, off-the-shoulder pattern dress while Marcella lead Anna Friel dazzled in an emerald green gown.

Also on the carpet was Mum star and comedian Lesley Manville, who is nominated for Comedy Performance, Best Male Actor nominee Lucian Msamati – who starred in Kiri – and presenter Victoria Derbyshire.

Some of the country’s favourite soap stars also walked the blue carpet before the ceremony, including Coronation Street’s Faye Brooks – who plays Kate Connor – and Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn, who is Mandy Richardson.

Fans were left shocked by the RTS award nominations earlier this month after Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly failed to pick up a nod for the first time since 2010.

The presenting duo are five-time winners of the Best Entertainment Award as well as being recognised for shows including Saturday Night Takeaway and The Ant and Dec show over the years.

This year, Michael McIntyre, Big Nastie and Jennifer Hudson will battle it out for Entertainment Performance.

However, Britain’s Got Talent – hosted by the duo for auditions last year – is still in the running for Entertainment Show.
