Royal Wedding: The one-of-a kind electric Jaguar Harry and Meghan drove to their after-party

Following a star-studded ceremony and lunchtime reception, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continued the wedding festivities by travelling in style to the evening celebrations.

The royal newlyweds made their way from Windsor Castle to Frogmore House in a stylish silver blue Jaguar E-Type Concept Zero, an electric version of the 1968 British classic.

The modern £350,000 vehicle came complete with a bespoke licence plate, bearing the date of the wedding.

An environmentally-friendly choice, the open-top car is nearly silent and can go up to 60mph in just 5.5 seconds and is kitted with a 220kW engine.

“Concept Zero combines the renowned E-type dynamic experience with enhanced performance through electrification,” said Tim Hannig, Director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic.

“This unique combination creates a breathtaking driving sensation.

Our aim with Concept Zero is to give classic Jaguars a sustainable future in changing environmental and economic conditions.”

Interestingly, the couple’s car was a left-hand drive model, a feature which some royal fans attributed as a nod to Markle’s American heritage.

Donning black tie for the intimate evening reception, which was hosted by the Prince of Wales, the newly-appointed Duchess of Sussex wore a bespoke lily white high neck gown designed by Stella McCartney and made from silk crepe.

The bride wore her hair in a loose up-do, styled by celebrity hairstylist George Northwood, who is hailed by beauty experts for his signature ‘done-undone’ looks that champion a relaxed aesthetic.

Markle accessorised her glamorous ensemble with an aquamarine diamond ring that once belonged to Princess Diana which is thought to have been a gift from her new husband.

The evening reception was attended by just 200 guests, consisting of close friends and family members.

Celebrity attendees are believed to have included Priyanka Chopra, James Corden and Serena Williams.
