'I'm fine': Rose assured fans that she is on the mend

Orange Is The New Black star Ruby Rose has revealed that she is currently wheelchair-bound after having surgery on her spine.

The 31-year-old actress had been suffering with the spinal condition for the past 10 years but had decided to keep it under wraps until now.

Rose took to social media to share the news with fans so that they wouldn’t be “shocked” to see her in a wheelchair or with a cane.

She tweeted: “So..For the past few years (decade) I’ve been dealing with a spine issue. I am now recovering from a back procedure, but I do need to stay active, so before I get seen with my cane and wheel chair in public, I’d rather put it out there that I’m fine and going to be fine.”

“What I need to know now is when I’m not wheeling around LA like a 102 year old, what movies, shows, books and video games do you suggest...I’m looking at you @chrissyteigen what games should I get?”

The Australian model added that one benefit of the surgery is that she has been forced to quit smoking.

Rose said: “On the plus side guess who had to quit smoking !!!!! YAY!!!!

“Im done ! I’m finally done.. that filthy, smelly, dirty, slowly killing you while you pay for it to suffocate you, is finally out of my life. I quit yesterday. And for my back ( and Mum ) I’ll never start again.”

The star, who is most commonly known for her role on hit series Orange Is The New Black, recently hit the big screen, appearing in the third instalment of the Pitch Perfect franchise.
