Runner seriously injured after being hit by car in Coventry
A woman has sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car in Coventry. It happened as she was running along Allesley Old Road on Saturday (September 7).
Paramedics were called to the scene at around 10am. Crews discovered that a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
Medics treated a woman, aged in her 20s, for potentially serious injuries. She was then taken to University Hospital Coventry in Walsgrave.

In a statement issued today (September 9), West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Allesley Old Road at 9.56am on Saturday (September 7). One ambulance attended.
“We discovered one patient, a woman, and she was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called to Allesley Old Road in Coventry after a woman was knocked over by a car at around 10am on Saturday (September 7). She sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening.”
