RuPaul’s Drag Race winner starring in Somerset show

The fields and hills around the Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet will be alive with the sound of not the usual pigs and cows but a naughty drag queen show starring one of the top drag queens in the country.

World renowned Danny Beard, who starred in Britain’s Got Talent and won the hugely popular RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, will be coming to the showground on Friday night, November 29 and it looks set to be a spectacular and glamourous show.

Host for the night will be our very own west country queen Tess Drive and the event will be a far cry from the usual agricultural events at the rural showground.

Danny Beard won the BBC’s RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2022, the first ever bearded queen to win the show.

Fans can expect a cheeky, fun filled evening with hilarious, raunchy comedy, outrageous costumes, games and lots of audience participation, including a chance to ‘strut your stuff’ on the stage.

The show runs from 7pm to midnight, with tickets priced at £30 per person.

Alongside Danny Beard's performance, attendees will also enjoy a meet-and-greet with both Danny and Tess, making it a great night for fans of drag and comedy alike.

Tess Drive is known as the Wicked Witch of the South West, the baroness of Bristol and the Queen of the Dad joke.

A vocal powerhouse with 13 years experience, she has taken her drag career to venues around the UK.

She is certain to put this show in fifth gear as it’s host and support the incredible Drag Race UK superstar that is Danny Beard.

It will certainly be a show to remember in Shepton Mallet and something different in the run up to Christmas.
