The return of Russell Tovey's smooth-talking MI6 agent to Quantico will teach you to never say never again.

His British intelligence operative-turned-CIA trainee Harry Doyle was written out at the end of the last season, but Entertainment Weekly reports that Tovey has now signed up for a full-time schedule on Quantico.

Last we saw the Bond-esque Harry, he'd been run off the joint CIA/FBI taskforce by his former partner Sebastian Chen (David Lim), so we imagine that he'll be looking to settle a score when he resurfaces.

Tovey's previous departure from Quantico came during a major revamp of the show's cast, as Aunjanue Ellis (Miranda Shaw), Yasmine Al Massri (Neema and Raina) and Pearl Thusi (Dayana Mampasi) were also being written out.

The ABC show's upcoming third season will shift its story back to a smaller cast. However, Blair Underwood will be returning as Deputy CIA Director Owen Hall to keep the recruits on their toes.

Priyanka Chopra stars in the ABC series as Alex Parrish, who becomes involved in trying to crack a conspiracy resulting from a hostage crisis at the G-20 summit.

This is Tovey's first regular TV role since finishing up HBO's Looking. He's also memorably starred in the original Being Human, The Night Manager and Doctor Who.

Quantico is expected to return to ABC in the US in January 2018 as part of the network's mid-season schedule. In the UK, the spy drama airs on Alibi.
