Russia Sends Cargo Plane of Medical Supplies to the US

The Russian Ministry of Defense said on April 1 that it was sending a cargo plane of medical supplies from Moscow to the US to aid the fight against the coronavirus.

The medical aid was mentioned by US President Donald Trump during a March 30 coronavirus task force press briefing. He said, “Russia sent us a very, very, large plane load of things … medical equipment, which was very nice.” However, the aid had yet to be delivered when the president spoke.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov spoke to Interfax news agency on March 31, saying that “Trump gratefully accepted this humanitarian aid.”
