Five-Storey Elderly Care Home Hit By Deadly Russian Strike
Ukrainian officials said a 78-year-old woman was killed and 13 people were injured when a Russian missile struck a five-story senior care facility in the northeast Ukrainian city of Sumy on Thursday, September 19.
This footage was released by the State Emergency Service (SES), which said 147 people were evacuated from the building.
Government officials in Sumy said the building was struck by a KAB-500 precision-guided missile.
The facility housed 221 patients, including 87 with reduced mobility, all of whom were transferred to other care facilities, officials said.
The care home is located across the street from a medical complex that includes hospitals for children, veterans, and cardiology patients. There are no known military sites in the area. Credit: SES Ukraine via Storyful
