Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces said it continued to defend the frontline city of Bakhmut as the country’s government-run United24 accused Russia of trying to erase it from the map.

United24, which is run by Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, said Russian forces were “trying to wipe the city off the face of the earth” with phosphorous and incendiary ammunition.

Pro-Russian Telegram channels said fighters from the Wagner paramilitary group were firing incendiary munitions at the city from BM-21 Grad MLRS rocket launchers.
