Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev, the Russia prime minister, were caught in a sudden down pour as they attended a ceremony outside the Kremlin walls on Thursday.

The two were laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier to mark the anniversary of Nazi Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941.

But for many Russian internet users the solemnity of the occasion was overshadowed by the look of stony indignation on Mr Medvedev's face during a conversation with the president.

Just what, pondered the RuNet, was Mr Putin saying?

Suggestions ranged from Mr Medvedev's unfortunate history of nodding off while Mr Putin speaks at state occasions to referencing the pair's swapping of the prime ministerial and presidential roles.

"Dima I promise, one more election and you can win the next one," one had Mr Putin saying.

In another, the president warned the prime minister to "stop sulking or I won't play prime ministers with you anymore."

Others made fun of Mr Putin's interviews with US director Oliver Stone.

"If you want I can ask Oliver to make a film about you, too. How do you like the title 'Don't call him Dimon'?"

Don't call him Dimon is the title of a film released by opposition leader Alexey Navalny that accused Mr Medvedev of running a secret network of charities to mask a extensive wealth.

Others focused on the third man in the picture - responsible for trying to keep the most powerful men in Russia dry.
