Russian Strikes in Mykolaiv Kill Woman, Destroy Historic Building
Overnight Russian strikes killed at least one person and destroyed a historic school building in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv on Tuesday, November 1, the mayor and governor said.
A pensioner was killed when Russia fired S-300 missiles at the city just after midnight, Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said on Tuesday.
The strikes completely destroyed one two-story residential building, and a fire broke out in another house, the mayor said.
The school, in the city center, was partially destroyed, Sienkevych said.
Mykolaiv Oblast Governor Vitaly Kim wrote on Telegram that Russian forces fired four missiles at the city. One strike killed a woman who was hiding in her bathroom, “but the rocket found her anyway,” Kim said in a video post.
