Crowds of people lined up for the opening of the flagship Vkusno i Tochka restaurant in Moscow on June 12, as several former McDonald’s outlets opened following a rebrand.
Footage recorded by Pavel Galkin shows crowds entering the packed restaurant on Pushkinskaya Square in central Moscow.
Russian news agency TASS reported that Vkusno i Tochka, meaning “Tasty and that’s it,” opened 15 locations in and around Moscow on Sunday.
Employees at the entrance can be seen cheering as patrons order and eat in the distinctly McDonald’s-like venue.
McDonald’s announced that it would temporarily suspend operations in its 850 Russian restaurants on March 8 due to the war in Ukraine. In a statement on May 16, the company announced that it would fully exit the Russian market. Credit: Pavel Galkin @pashok1230 via Storyful
