Mamie Mitchell, the script supervisor working on Alec Baldwin’s film ‘Rust,’ filed suit on Wednesday, November 17, against the actor and additional producers for the film following a fatal on-set shooting in October.

Baldwin shot and killed the movie’s director of photographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza on October 21 after firing a gun he said he didn’t know was loaded with a live round.

“Alec Baldwin should have assumed that the gun in question was loaded unless and until it was demonstrated to him or checked by him that it was not loaded,” said the filing.

Mitchell is represented by attorney Gloria Allred, who said at a Wednesday press conference in Los Angeles that the incident rose above “simple negligence.”

“In our opinion, Mr. Baldwin chose to play Russian Roulette when he fired a gun without checking it and without having the armorer do so in his presence,” said Allred. “His behavior and that of the producers on ‘Rust’ was reckless.” Credit: Allred, Maroko & Goldberg via Storyful
