Rutger Hauer has seen things you wouldn't believe and now he's tackling a whole new challenge: a British sitcom.
In his first-ever British TV comedy appearance, Hauer will play porter and former golfing prodigy Tillman who teaches newbie Simon (Easton) about the ways of the hospital, manhood, karma and – most importantly – love.
We need to see this show right now.
"None of us are worthy, especially me. It's quite surreal but utterly amazing to go from watching someone on screen as a kid, to chatting about your script with them in Costa Coffee," joked Dan Sefton of Hauer's casting.
Based on Sefton's own experiences of working in a hospital, Porters follows the deluded Simon as he dreams of becoming a doctor by starting at the bottom and becoming the best porter the NHS has ever seen.
All he has to do is survive a few months in the hospital basement and not kill any of the patients. He's joined in his quest by the cynical, self-styled 'Queen of the Porters' Frankie (Wokoma) and naïve nurse Lucy (Jessie).
Porters is expected to launch on Dave later this year.
