Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes announce divorce

Broadcaster Eamonn Holmes and Loose Women star Ruth Langsford have announced they are going to divorce. The pair, who previously presented This Morning together and have been together for more than a decade, confirmed the news.

A statement read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

The couple, who have been married for 14 years, are famous for working together on the This Morning sofa as well as alone on Loose Women and GB News.

One friend told MailOnline: "Ruth and her team have been telling their friends to look out for the comments, which they are planning to put on social media. It’s a very sorry tale. They are both so loved by the British public, they won over so many people on This Morning which they hosted for more than a decade."

Eamonn Holmes has been unwell and has undergone surgery to correct chronic back pain. He also has a shoulder injury which saw him off work for four months.

Ruth has been caring for Eamonn as he gets around with a cane and wheelchair - with no certainty that he will fully recover.

Eamonn and Ruth hosted This Morning together for 14 years.
