Ruth Langsford has shared a cryptic post on social media following her shock split from husband Eamonn Holmes after 14 years of marriage.

The ITV frontwoman and GB News presenter Eamonn stunned their followers when they declared they were going their separate ways on social media at the weekend.

The once smitten pair, who had spent over two decades together, confirmed they were getting divorced in a mutual statement on Saturday.

The brief read: "[They] have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

Since the news broke, the former couple have proceeded to resume their regular Instagram updates which included the Loose Women star taking her followers behind the scenes of her work day at QVC, the Mirror reports.

Ruth spent the morning doing a 'Design Day' with QVC and appeared to be in good spirits as she posted an elevator mirror selfie.

The 64-year-old was dressed head-to-toe in clothes from her signature line and merrily beamed at the camera whilst waiting for the lift.

Her caption for the post read: "Yes... It had to be done! " To complete the Instagram Story post, she added Naughty Boy's hit song, Lifted featuring Emeli Sande over the top of it.

Her post comes after it was reported that Ruth had been seen still wearing her wedding ring. She was seen out and about in Surrey and appeared to be donning her ring while going about her activities.

And despite everything, she continues to hold fort, even wearing a smile as seen in a few freshly posted online photos.

Eamonn Holmes was also spotted still wearing his wedding ring as he returned to presenting duties on GB News earlier this week, co-hosting the breakfast show with Isabel Webster on Tuesday morning.

Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, who famously co-presented ITV's This Morning, reportedly started their romance in 1997 after being introduced by a mutual friend.

They married in 2010, and Ruth has previously mentioned on Loose Women in 2016 that they had been together for a "long, long time" before tying the knot.

The pair share a son, Jack Holmes, aged 22, and Eamonn has three older children from a previous marriage.

The announcement of their split follows weeks of speculation among fans, who noticed the couple's absence from each other's social media pages.

It was only recently that Ruth and Eamonn confirmed their decision to separate after many years together.
