Ruth Langsford 'rips out Eamonn's stairlift' from marital home
Ruth Langsford has reportedly taken out the stairlift installed for her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes from their shared home, an insider disclosed.
The well-known GB News anchor and his wife Ruth Langsford, who have been a familiar duo on This Morning, parted ways in May after 14 years of marriage. The pair share a son, Jack, born in 2002.
Their separation came as a surprise to many fans who had come to know them through their television work together.
Their breakup was officially confirmed by a spokesperson who stated: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."
However, Eamonn, aged 64, has since found companionship with 42-year-old relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, whom he met on Twitter several years back, developing a strong bond over time.
Ruth has made changes to their Surrey home by having the stairlift, which was put in place to assist Eamonn with his severe back issues, removed, as reported by the Mail on Sunday.
The stairlift was a necessity for Eamonn to navigate the curved staircase to his former bedroom due to his chronic back condition.
A source commented to the publication: "Ruth doesn't need [a stairlift]. She's super-fit and healthy."
An insider has shared: "Ruth has remained quiet and classy. Even when people bring up what Eamonn has been up to, she stays silent and just smiles. She thinks that is the best way. She has had a lot of support from her friends."
Ruth Langsford's grace during her split from Eamonn Holmes hasn't gone unnoticed, especially by co-star and friend Coleen Nolan, who lauded her for it.
Speaking of her continued closeness with Ruth after four months apart, Coleen said: "Ruth and I keep in touch all the time. She's back at work now, which is great because I really missed her."
Coleen Nolan praised Ruth's composure amid personal challenges, saying: "I don't want to say too much because it's not my business to say Ruth's life, but what I will say from a friend's point of view is, I've never met anyone that has handled something with so much dignity and pride."
Coleen further admired Ruth's conduct by adding: "She's just such a lady, more of a lady then I'll ever be, I would've spilled my guts right now - as I do, that's my problem, I say too much. She's been absolutely amazing, she really has."
Despite offering advice on staying silent, Coleen admits Ruth doesn't quite take it: "I've given her advice but she doesn't listen to me, I'm going, 'How can you not say anything? ' But I don't need to give her advice," she told Woman Magazine.
On a final note, Coleen expressed ongoing support for Ruth and her resilience: "I just love her and I'm in awe of how she's handled everything."
Eamonn Holmes and his new partner Katie have been seen out together on a number of occasions since taking their relationship public, with recent revelations pointing towards a deeper commitment. An insider shared with Closer Magazine that Katie is ready to deepen their bond.
Speaking to the magazine, the source disclosed: "Eamonn has been very solitary, he only wants to be with Katie. She wants marriage and believes he's her soulmate. They plan to purchase a house in Belfast and live together."
The beloved Belfast presenter was spotted being cared for by Katie in a wheelchair, following their intimate break.
