Ruth Langsford has refused to rule out surgery in the future as she opened up on her fears of ageing following her split from Eamonn Holmes.

The veteran TV presenter announced in May that she and Eamonn were to split after nearly 14 years of marriage. The pair previously presented This Morning together and have one son, Jack, who was born in 2002.

Speaking in a new interview with woman&home, the 64-year-old said that she was prepared to go under the knife in the future after seeing comments from people on social media criticising her appearance.

She said: "A man put on a social media post recently, "Ruth’s really looking her age these days." I had a little jolt and thought, "What, because I’ve got a few lines?" I’m nearly 65. What am I supposed to look like?

"Sometimes I’ll take a selfie and I’ll look at myself and go, ‘That looks terrible. I’m not posting that.’ There’s a vanity there. Listen, every time I see myself on camera, I think, ‘I’d like to get my neck done.’ It’s all I see. Something about your neck suddenly goes, and it’s really ageing."

Following the split, Ruth took some time off from presenting on Loose Women before Eamonn went public with his new relationship with dating counsellor Katie Alexander, 43, shortly after.

Ruth has since returned to the ITV talk show and has even been enjoying a string of nights out with her celebrity pals including Vanessa Feltz, Linda Robson and Rylan Clark.

Opening up on her surgery plans, the former This Morning star said that she would never have injectables or fillers but could be open to a neck lift or a chin lift. "By the time I’m 68, I might not be able to stand it any more," she admitted.

The couple first began presenting ITV daytime programme This Morning together in 2006, before leaving the programme in 2021 and being replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.

Ruth admitted that she has lost weight since her split from the GB News presenter and said that the divorce may have been a contributing factor to her new appearance.

She said: "“I have lost weight. Divorce obviously has something to do with it but I also went for a hormone check and rebalance, which helped. It could also hopefully mean that I’m coming to the end of menopause.”

A spokesperson for the pair at the time of their divorce said they had “confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing” and that they were “determined to stay friends and keep things amicable”.
