Ruth Langsford played a prank on This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield – duping the pair into thinking that she'd seriously injured her neck during Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.

During an episode of This Morning, it cut to the Loose Women studio to find out what was happening on the show...

Only Holly and Phil couldn't help but notice Ruth's neck brace, with Holly asking: "Are you alright?"

Explaining that the injury was a result of her Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals with professional dance partner Anton du Beke, Ruth said: "I've had a little injury in my neck.

"Because I've been doing a lot of that while doing the waltzing," she said while holding up her arms.

After Holly asked if the brace was "actually real", Ruth revealed that she was just having a big old laugh...

"I'm just teasing! It's only because Eamonn [Holmes] had talked about my injury on Instagram," she joked. "But anyway, I'm absolutely fine."

Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood is asking why romance blossoming between Strictly Come Dancing couples is thought of as a 'curse' rather than a "joy".

"If two single people are partnered together, they spend hours living, eating and breathing with each other, so it's understandable that sometimes it turns into true love," he insisted.

Strictly Come Dancing will premiere this Saturday night (September 23) at 6.25pm with a bumper episode on BBC One.
