Rutherglen Community Safety Awareness team hold successful final event of year
The Rutherglen Community Safety Awareness team held its final event of the year on November 26.
It took place at Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre and provided practical information subjects such as home fire safety and how to avoid being scammed.
Organiser Barry Cathie said: “It was a great event and we spoke with lots of people regarding community safety and issues and concerns around fraud and scams.

“I’d like to extend our thanks to our partners, Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, Police Scotland, South Lanarkshire Council Trading Standards, St Andrew’s First Aid, Neighbourhood Watch Scotland, and Healthy n Happy Community Trust for their support throughout the year.
“I’d also like to wish everyone in Rutherglen a Merry Christmas, and special thanks to Jane Cowan – Rutherglen Exchange Shopping Centre Manager – for her continuous support and hospitality.”
A Christmas raffle was also held with the winner Lynne Greenhorn picking up a basket of goodies.
