Sometimes it's hard to know where Ryan Reynolds ends and Deadpool begins, though it provides for pure brilliance on social media.

Reynolds has been at it once again on Twitter, this time with a pop at Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox's entertainment assets for $52.4 billion (£39bn).

Deadpool is a 20th Century Fox movie franchise, meaning that it will now come under Disney's control – something that the star does not seem happy about.

He posted a Photoshop of the Merc with a Mouth being escorted out of Disneyland by a security guard, captioning it: "Apparently you can't actually blow the Matterhorn."

It is not his first joke on the matter either as a few weeks ago, before the deal was confirmed, the star tweeted: "Time to uncork that explosive sexual tension between Deadpool and Mickey Mouse."

However, Disney boss Bob Iger has assured fans that Deadpool will stay R-rated while under the House of Mouse.

"[Deadpool] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded," he said. "But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool.

"As long as we let the audiences know what's coming, we think we can manage that fine."

As for the further X-Men universe, we have a handy breakdown of what the deal means for that and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
