Ryan Reynolds is known for his hilarious sense of humour, but his latest British-themed joke? We're not sure whether we should be delighted or offended.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday night, the Deadpool star shared a 'receipt' of a gift he 'sent' to Beatles legend, Sir Paul McCartney.

The present he 'pre-ordered'? Oh, you know, just a bottle of the Queen's homemade gin.

And to top it all off, he addressed the package to 221b Baker Street, Downton Abbey Rd, 1D4 LYF, referencing both Sherlock Holmes and everyone's favourite period drama in one.

Pre-ordered.

Look even closer and the fake postcode reads out "1D (On Direction) for life". Clever.

It comes after Buckingham Palace announced earlier this week that they would be selling their own label of the good stuff.

The gin is made up of 12 botanicals and infused with citrus and herbal notes - many of which have been picked from the Buckingham palace garden.

A bottle will set you back £40 and you can purchase it at the Royal Collection Shop here.

Of course, Reynolds himself is no stranger to the booze industry, with his own Portland-based gin label Aviation.

The American actor, also married to Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, bought the drinks company back in February 2018 - though it is not known how much of a stake in the company he owns.

Other celebs, including George Clooney and P Diddy have also dabbled in the liquor market, with the former selling his shares in his tequila company Casamigos for a whopping $1billion.
