Ryan Reynolds has been busy outlining his plans for the future of anti-superhero pin-up Deadpool.

Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Reynolds revealed he would "love" to explore the character's sexuality in future films.

"I certainly think that this universe…needs to represent and reflect the world in very real ways," Ryan said when asked if more LGBTQ characters will be in future movies.

"The great thing about Deadpool is that we're allowed to do things that other superhero movies don't necessarily do."

We already know that alter ego Wade Wilson is pansexual – and so it makes sense for Reynolds to delve deeper into Deadpool's character too.

Does Wade hold the key to unlocking more of the Merc with a Mouth's character?

"It's something that I'd love to see more of," Reynolds continued.

"Certainly through Wade, certainly through this universe because it's something that we're building out more."

Elsewhere at Comic-Con, fans were treated to a brand-new Deadpool exclusive - an extended Super Duper Cut of the sequel.

Screenrant reported that the new cut features at least three brand-new scenes that extend the film by 15 minutes - plus a much-anticipated different post-credits sequence.

During the scene, Deadpool travels back to the events of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and kills Wade Wilson.

The Super Duper Cut sees that extended as Deadpool tells Wolverine that he's "cleaning up the timeline".

The new version also sees Deadpool drop hints that Hugh Jackman will return to the role of Wolverine in a future movie.

Whether that actually comes to pass remains to be seen…
