Big Brother star Rylan Clark has urged broadcasters to bring back the long-running reality series, following the launch of Australia's celebrity version on UK TV.

The former X Factor hopeful and Celebrity Big Brother winner, who fronted the show's spin-off Bit on the Side between 2013 and its cancellation in 2018, took to social media on Tuesday night (January 25) to react to news that E4 is set to air the Down Under edition in February.

Through its Channel 4 Twitter account, the channel confirmed that the likes of Caitlyn Jenner, Thomas Markle Jr and Married At First Sight Australia's Jessika Power will soon be shacking up in a 'luxury hotel' together, and complete challenges in an attempt to win a $100,000 (£53,000) prize for charity.

"Amazing news..." Clark said in response, before adding: "NOW BRING OURS BACK."

"I wish Rylan, I'm so exited we will see [with] this one, maybe it will make people see how good it was," one enthusiastic follower replied, as another tweeted: "A step in the right direction. Love that it seems C4 are taking interest in Big Brother again. Fingers crossed @BBUK will be back next."

Clark's latest campaign comes just a few weeks after he opened up about what being a part of Big Brother meant to him in an interview with The Mirror.

"Big Brother was like a child to me – doing Big Brother's Bit on the Side every night became like a lifestyle rather than a job," he explained to the publication.

"Big Brother changed my life completely – a proper 360 – and I miss it dearly and I just think if it was to come back now, it could come back the same but so different now."
